Updated Tech Tools Policy No Longer Requires Verification—June 8, 2015
Dear Deans, Directors, and Department Managers:
I am writing to let you know that the university's Tech Tools Policy has been updated, effective today, June 8, 2015.
The revised policy no longer requires employees receiving a stipend for a tech tool or a university-provided tech tool to complete the online verification statement that has been available for the past few years. It is, however, recommended—but not required—that units develop a local verification process, which can be paper-based.
It was modified for a number of reasons, including relaxed Internal Revenue Service reporting requirements related to tech tools and feedback from the university community.
