Is my scholarship/fellowship taxable?

The taxability depends on the use of the funds. The University, as a withholding agent, is not required to report or withhold on this money unless the recipient is a nonresident alien. I just received a Form W-2C in the mail. What do I do?

You may have to amend a previously filed Form 1040 Tax Return if you experienced changes in your Federal taxable income. You may have to amend a previously filed state tax return if you experienced changes in your state taxable income.
