Financial Analysis supports the university community by providing analytical support to the Executive Vice president and Chief Financial Officer and the Associate Vice President for Finance. Our primary responsibility is to lead the annual budget and business planning process for the Business & Finance organization. This includes budgeting, forecasting, annual financial reporting, FTE analysis, and capital planning for university-wide services.
The department is responsible for leading the consolidation of the university’s annual $7.7 billion dollar budget processes, which includes preparing documents and Board of Regent items for the approval of the university’s annual budget. Financial Analysis works in close partnership with the Office of Budget and Planning to create university-wide budget-to-actual reports.
Financial Analysis reviews and approves all university internal recharge services to ensure compliance with applicable university and federal guidelines. The team also offers training services and can provide personalized assistance to help units establish recharge rates.
Financial Analysis offers assistance to university units with a variety of services such as developing financial or budget reports, streamlining financial processes, standard journal entries, or other services as requested.
Each spring, Financial Analysis begins gathering data from all areas of the university to produce a comprehensive and detailed budget report for use by the university community and general public.
