Tony Burger is the director of financial analysis and is responsible for the annual budget and business planning process for the Business and Finance (B&F) organization at the University of Michigan. He represents B&F on budget-related matters and provides financial management reporting to B&F units. Also, he is responsible for leading the consolidation of the University’s annual budget processes.
He also directs the periodic review and analysis of university recharge rates and ensures they comply with federal costing regulations. The Office of Financial Analysis also includes the Finance Project Management Office.
Burger has more than 32 years of financial and project management experience at the university. He has extensive knowledge of financial systems and has led financial system development and implementation at the institution. His previous responsibilities included planning and organizing efforts to develop the university's audited financial statements and serving as the project director for the development and implementation of the university's Shared Services Center. Burger has a B.A. in accounting from Eastern Michigan University.
